Elevating Radar-First AI in the EVENTS Project

Perciv AI Accelerates the Future of Safe Automated Driving through EVENTS Project Success

DELFT, Netherlands – Following 3.5 years of intensive research and large-scale experimentation, the European research project EVENTS has officially concluded, marking a major milestone for Perciv AI and the future of automated mobility.

The EVENTS project (2022–2026) was a 3.5-year European research initiative dedicated to strengthening trust and safety in automated driving. With a total budget of approximately €6.9 million, the project brought together 12 leading partners from 8 EU countries and the UK to develop a robust perception and decision-making framework for vehicles. By investigating real-life European road scenarios, the project aimed to ensure that automated systems can navigate uncertainty with high reliability.

In collaboration with TU Delft, Perciv AI utilized the project to validate its "radar-first" AI perception stack. Unlike traditional systems that may struggle in low visibility, Perciv AI’s models include built-in self-assessment for:

  • Odometry and Occupancy: Tracking the vehicle's position and surrounding space accurately.

  • Object Detection: Identifying hazards even in unstructured road environments.

The success of the project has provided Perciv AI and its partners with significant international visibility among global experts. The technological advancements and experimental evidence gathered in Delft now serve as a foundation for the safe, reliable, and trustworthy deployment of automated vehicles across Europe.
